Green Valley Lake Activities - Green Valley Lake is the perfect base for all your San Bernardino mountain activities. The possibilities for a beautiful day in the mountains are endless. Get away from the hectic pace "down the hill" and relax with a quiet day canoeing at the lake. For the more adventureous, perhaps a brisk hike or a day of rock climbing.
Winter Activities : As the highest community in the San Bernardino mountains, Green Valley Lake boasts more snowfall than any other community.
Snow Play Areas: There is plenty of snow around the cabin for snow play and sledding. There are also additional slopes on the way out of town and off Hwy 18 on the way to Snow Valley.
Cross Country Skiing: Green Valley Lake maintains a cross country skiing trail. Check in town for locations.
Ski Resorts: Our rental cabin at Green Valley Lake is close to all the local Ski Resorts. All these resorts have rental shops, restaurants and lockers.

Snow Valley is only a 20 minute drive from our Green Valley Lake rental cabin. Snow Valley is very accessable even in bad weather. The parking lot is right off the 18. There are 13 lifts and runs for all levels and expereince.

Bear Mountian and Snow Summit are located about 30 minutes from our Green Valley Lake rental cabin. Big Bear is home to two of Southern California's premier ski resorts, Snow summit and Bear Mountain Resort. Together they offer 75 trails, 20 lifts, four high-speed chairs, and seven snowboard parks for all levels of skill with the added bonus of majestic mountain views. Lift tickets are interchangeable.

Summer Activies: Green Valley Lake has an amazing amount of summer activities for vacationers to choose from. All these activities can be enjoyed in weather 10-15 degrees cooler than Los Angeles, Riverside and San Barnardino temperatures. Green Valley Lake is a great place to escape the Southern California summer heat.
Green Valley Lake: The Lake is open from May to October and has a beach for swiming and relaxation. Rent a paddle boat, play volleyball, enjoy the summer mountain sun all on the Green Valley Lake shore. Our Rental Cabin is a two minute walk to the Green Valley Lake beach. Fishing at the Lake: The Lake is stocked by both the County of San Bernardino and the town of Green Valley Lake. Limits do apply and anyone fishing needs to purchase a fishing day pass for the lake and carry a valid fishing license. Camping: The Green Valley Lake campground has 40 spaces and is managed by the Forest Service. For reservations and current rates contact GVL Recreation at the number listed above.
Hiking: Green Valley Lake is surrounded by the San Barnardino National Forest. There are dozens of hicking trails in the area.

Rock Climbing: There are a number of climbing routes in Green Valley Lake. They range from beginner to expert. Most can be top-ropped and some can lead. There are a number of climbing spots within a short walk from the back parking lot of the Green Valley Lake campground (you must pay to park $5.00). For free parking you can hike up the fire road from Green Valley Lake Blvd (about 1/2 of a mile). There is a great guide book written by Brad Singer on the Rock Climbing in Green Valley Lake. However, it is currently out of stock at Amazon, but it can be found in the book section of Sports Chalet and REI. Below are links to the best online guide books.
